Mathematics with Angela
By jean_claud_ostwald, 00:01

I hope you know who Angela Merker is. She has just turned back from a visit to Africa where she went to a school in Kongo. She learnt mathematics together as a regular student.

A Good PR

This is a very good PR strategy, as we know that there are many racial outbursts in Germany. Although the unemployment is still very high there even among local people, foreigners are treated in a different, discriminative way. For instance, there is a law, issued by the so-called Bundestag (National Parliament) that favours employees of German origin ahead of foreigners. If a German and a foreigner apply for the same position at the same time,  the employer is obliged to hire the German. Germany still discriminates EU nationals of ten Eastern and Central European countries, willing to reside and work there. They are still being treated like nationals from third countries. The negative attitude towards them is even encouraged by the most popular media in that country - they're being mocked, insulted, stereotyped, etc.
However,

it has not sopped the mass influx of people to that country.

Angela has even come to the conclusion that those citizens are useful for the state and could solve the great demographic problem. The average of the German population is continuously rising, that's why more young people are needed. Young families have usually no more than 1, almost 2 children.

Bearing in mind those process in the modern German society, in future we'll have a different Germany with less influence on the international scene. As a matter of fact, it's still being the leading European economy, mainly in the export and industry but last tenancies show that its economy is deteriorating. The number of unemployed is still high, national debts are rising, prices are getting more expensive. The public order in the major towns was lately violated by mass strikes, orginised by Deutsche Bahn.
Let's turn back to Angela Merkel. The cartoon above , which I have kindly borrowed by Side Effects, show that there is no major difference between Merkel's and former federal chancelor Gerhard Schroeder's policy. Both have used unpopular measures in terms of social policy. The tendency is that people will get less money from the state and meanwhile business projects and growth will be encouraged.

Still it has not caused a great success

but there is one thing that Merkel should realise. It's her last chance to do something for country and its development. She is a brilliant speaker. Everyone could see her weekly podcasts on that website but actions and reforms are what Germany currently needs. Otherwise, we will forget about a Germany as a leading global economic and political power despite the interesting visits of Angela to third-world-countries.

Interesting to know:

There is a video of the German national anthem in Turkish:

The first photo was taken through google search images.
